Runner Lamont Marcell Jacobs Suspected of Doping – Two-time Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs says he never has and will never take performance-enhancing drugs or doping. While the Italian explained that he ended the 2021 season early due to fatigue. The 27-year-old Texas-born runner became the first Italian to win 100-meter Olympic gold in August. Negative things hurt me a little because what they do makes me doubt my victory. My victory represents extreme hard work. Hard work that no one sees, hard work of blood, sweat, tears and injuries.” he said.

Jacobs, who returns to Berlin in February after not playing since the Olympics, explained why he had been out for so long. “For the average audience, they saw me winning at the Olympics and didn’t know what my previous season was like. My season started in February, and it was intense,” he said. “The entire Olympic period was exhausting, not only for my body but also for my mind. I needed to regenerate my mind and body. I never lost the will to compete.”
