The latest Ekingsnews has revealed that former Chelsea manager Avram Grant was accused of sexually harassing a number of women during a televised documentary in Israel.

The 66-year-old led Chelsea to the 2008 Champions League final and has also managed Portsmouth and West Ham. He denies any wrongdoing that he is accused of.

In the Israeli TV show investigation, he has been accused of seducing young women and pressured to stay with him.  This matter will now be investigated by FIFA.

Giovanni Infantino, president of the International Football Federation, said: “Given the nature of the allegations, The FIFA Ethics Committee will investigate the matter. When it comes to misconduct and harassment in football, we reiterate that FIFA takes reporting of allegations very seriously.”

Avram Grant was Israel’s national team manager from 2002-2009 and most recently managed Ghana from 2014-2017.

Claims innocence

“I want clarity. I never have and will never force myself to harm a woman or anyone,” he told the Telegraph. “Any sexual relationship I have with a woman is consensual.”

Many of the women who were victims of Grant were reported to be well-known journalists. One accuser claims Grant invited her to his apartment in 2020 to help her find a job. She claimed that he asked her to take off her clothes and tried to kiss her.

And a former model accuses Grant of trying to pressure her into having sex in a hotel room in England. After traveling to meet him when he said he could help with her job.

Several other women also spoke on the show, who had testified about him for nearly an hour that Grant had talked about sex with them. At the same time, they wanted to work together professionally with Grant.

“Over the years, I have maintained relationships with women. In all these relationships, I do my best to treat them with respect and friendship. And I never intended to behave unfairly or hurt any woman,” Grant replied on Israeli TV.

“Who felt uncomfortable or was hurt by me? I regret and apologize from the bottom of my heart,” Grant concluded.
