Badminton News Malaysia Open Tickets Laris Mani

Malaysia Open Tickets are selling well. The response to the Malaysia Open badminton championship from 28 June to 3 July has been overwhelming. According to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), tickets from the quarter-finals onwards are nearly sold out.

Secretary General of BAM Datuk Kenny Goh said the Petronas Malaysia Open would be back at the Arena Axiata in Bukit Jalil after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I was told the response was very good, and tickets were almost sold out for the quarter-final stage and beyond. Just a little bit more,” he told reporters at the Petronas U-21 Championship at the Pahang Badminton Association hall here today.

Ticket sales open on May 26 through the website www.myticket.asia. With ticket prices between RM25 and RM500 and the early bird promotion is limited to the first 2,000 tickets sold. The Malaysia Open, one of the top five super-series tournaments in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) calendar, offers prize money of US$675,000 (RM2,963,250). In the five-day U-21 championship for reserve and junior players, Kenny said he was satisfied with the players’ performances because they played high-quality badminton. Justin Hoh Shou Wei won the men’s singles title while Wong Ling Ching lifted the women’s singles crown. Muhammad Fazriq Mohamad Razif/Wong Vin Sean won the men’s doubles. Meanwhile, the women’s doubles were Teoh Lexuan/Wong Ling Ching and Tan Wei Liang/Ho Lo Ee mixed doubles.

Ng Tze Yong Will Not Participate in the Indonesia Masters

It is confirmed that the men’s singles player from Malaysia, Ng Tze Yong, will not participate in the Indonesia Masters and Open 2022 events. Because Ng Tze Yong will focus on recovering and preparing for the tournament in Malaysia. This was conveyed by the men’s singles coach, Wong Choong Hann, who explained that his team was not yet fit because of the tight tournament. No wonder because since March 2022, Lee Zii Jia’s colleague has started participating in tournaments. So ahead of the tournament in Indonesia, Ng Tze Yong was forced to miss first. In addition to recovering, Choong Hann also explained that there would be improvements in the appearance of his foster children.

“We have decided to pull him out of the Indonesian Masters to give him time to recover. And prepare for the tournament in Malaysia,” said Choong Hann.

“He admits that he needs extra time to fix the weaknesses in his game.” The 22-year-old player has experienced a decline in performance since the 2022 Asian Team Championships (BATC). In addition to participating in other tournaments since March, of course, a fatigue factor comes to Ng Tze Yong. Therefore, Choong Hann explained that Tze Yong needed time to achieve his best performance. Even when compared to Lee Zii Jia, he had to go through a long time to reach his current appearance.
