The Head of Matchroom Boxing will promote the undisputed 168-pound champion from Mexico. In the upcoming trilogy fight against arch-rival Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, Alvarez has made it clear that he wants revenge against Bivol. WBA light heavyweight title winner, next May. Bivol beat Alvarez by unanimous decision in their light heavyweight title fight in May.

And Bivol, however, can be tied for as many as two fights in a row, which can complicate that timeline. Bivol, a Kyrgyz-born Russian, was recently ordered by the WBA to take on Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez. Promoted by Golden Boy, who, like Hearn, has a broadcasting rights deal with DAZN. Hearn, who promotes Bivol along with the Russian outfit World of Boxing, prefers Bivol to face Joshuabuatsi. The London-based competitor promotor Hearn. Hearn said he recently filed an exemption with the WBA to make it happen. If the WBA rejects the exemption, Jadisi already has a contingency plan with an IBF world title eliminator against Jean Pascal.

Bivol Against Buatsi and Ramirez

The England promoters are aware that Bivol may have to take on Lakisi and Ramirez for a rematch with Alvarez to take place.

“Zurdo was called up as mandatory but we have already given [an exception] for Bivol to fight Joshua Creates.  So it will be reviewed by the WBA.” Hearn told The DAZN Boxing Show. “He has to fight one or both before Canelo Alvarez. And they are both very dangerous fights.”

It’s unclear how Alvarez’s rematch could happen in May, as expected. If Bivol has two battles to complete. Alvarez has struggled in May and September of each calendar year for most of his mature career to take advantage of Mexico’s annual celebrations that take place in those months. Hearn expects Bivol to return to the ring in October or November. But that theoretically won’t leave much time for Bivol to put in another fight before Alvarez’s rematch.

“Buatsi is a great talent,” Hearn said. “Gilberto Ramirez is also a great talent, a former world champion. Canelo has made it clear that he wants to fight Gennadiy Golovkin and then he wants to have a rematch with Dmitry Bivol in May, so we are a little bit behind on time.”

“I think October, early November is realistic for the next Dmitry Bivol fight.” continued Hearn. “We are talking to the Boxing World. Obviously, he’s under contract with us, so we’ll be planning the next fight. Whether it’s Jadisi or whether it’s Ramirez, it’s going to be one of those guys next.”
