EkingsNews-Boxing News: Relive Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson Fight

Boxing News Replay Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson

Boxing News Relive Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson Fight. There was controversy before the fight. There was great doubt that the fight would actually happen. And there is great fan interest. It was 20 years ago today when Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson finally got this after a wild pre-fight presser that saw Tyson attack and bite Lewis. “Iron Mike” was later denied a license in many places. But eventually, the fight finds a home, and Lewis discovers just how much better he is than Tyson. At this stage in their respective careers, at least.

Tyson, 35, and Lewis, 36, are fighting in Memphis, and the promotion is really big. Hugh. Unmatched.

But for a while, it was really hit and miss when it came to whether or not the two would actually fight in the ring. Two of the biggest names in the heavyweight division at the time, having fought once as a young man in The Catskills. Engaged in that fierce battle in January 2002 when at a presser to announce the fight. Tyson threw several punches at Lewis’ bodyguards. because the two were supposed to meet head-to-head on the podium in New York. And Tyson then allegedly bit Lewis in the leg during the ensuing fight. Tyson, who was basically insane, was later denied licenses everywhere other than Memphis. The battle that everyone still wanted to see, even wanted to see more of, had begun again.

Lewis Beats Tyson

After a bright start, with Tyson winning the opening round, the one-time “undefeated” fighter faded. Tyson then took the hit. Cut above both eyes, outboxed, out-punched and out-muscled, Tyson is no match for Lewis. Finally lying on his back in round eight, Tyson looked like he was done, never to fight the former champion again. It’s sad to see how far Tyson has fallen. There was, surprisingly, a brief talk of a rematch, with Tyson eagerly asking his conqueror for a chance to fight him “one more time.” Thankfully Tyson’s repeated blow never happened. We saw 20 years ago today a fight that, to be truly competitive, had to take place at least five or six years in advance. But no, and fans took what was left of the super fight.

Tyson, shooting or approaching him but desperate for money, kept fighting. The former king managed one win and then two more KOs by fighters who today readily admit they won’t stand a chance with the pinnacle version of the fighter they stepped into the ring with. It turned out that Lewis didn’t have much else to offer either. Escaped a humiliating defeat to Vitali Klitschko at the end of his career a year after he punished Tyson. Lewis barely made it through the battle, which helped to victory because of the terrible wounds Klitschko suffered. Lewis and Tyson had to fight it was only demanded by the general public. But after their fight, one won by Lewis’ orders, no one should fight anymore.

EKingsNews-Ice skating News: Latest Regulations Ice Skating Minimum Age to Compete

Latest Sports News Latest Regulations Ice Skating Minimum Age to Compete

Latest Sports News Latest Regulations Ice Skating Minimum Age to Compete. Ice skaters must be at least 17 years old to participate in senior competitions. After the sport’s governing body voted on Tuesday (June 7) to raise the minimum age from 15. The decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) congress in Phuket, Thailand, comes months after the Beijing Winter Olympics drug scandal. Which involved 15-year-old Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva.

“This is a very historic decision,” said ISU president Jan Dijkema, after 100 countries voted in favor of the measure, with only 16 against.

Valieva failed a pre-match drug test but was allowed to compete. And then broke down after falling several times during his performance, with the global spotlight on him. He finished medals off medals with questions swirling about his entourage’s impact after a tense and tearful post-routine meeting with his coach. ISU said that raising the age limit had been on its agenda long before the Valieva case. And admits that it has an obligation to care for elite teenage athletes. The changes will be made gradually over the coming years, reaching the age of 17 in the 2024/25 season. Ahead of the vote, ISU director general Fredi Schmid acknowledged that the agency had faced media pressure. And a “big attack” after the Olympics and reminding delegates that the reputation of the sport is at stake.

Majority Support Age Limit Decision

“The moment of truth is clear today as ISU’s credibility will also be scrutinized. The media and the public will be watching us closely, so don’t forget this,” he said. The skating body’s medical advice supports raising the age limit to 17. On the grounds, it will benefit young skaters physically and mentally and help prolong their careers.

“I feel as a skating administrator, it’s a moral obligation. And it’s your duty to give these young skaters the opportunity and time to develop the skills they need to succeed at the senior level.” Dr Jane Moran of the body’s medical commission said.

“They have the right to develop themselves as human beings in their teens. They don’t need us to force them to compete.” A medical report said the changes would give junior athletes time to reach skeletal maturity.

“The concern is that during periods of known skeletal vulnerability, adolescent athletes may be exposed to the excessive training and competition loads associated with high-level competition. That puts athletes at greater risk of injury.” said the medical report. It also warns that some elite teenage athletes may experience a delay of puberty by an average of two years as a result of the physical demands of training and inadequate energy intake. It is noted that some people are at greater risk of developing eating disorders. The Athlete Commission surveyed nearly 1,000 athletes and coaches, and 86 percent supported lifting the age limit.

EKingsNews-Boxing News: Ryan Garcia Says Davis Next Opponent After Javier Fortuna

Ryan Garcia Says Davis is the Next Opponent After Javier Fortuna

Ryan Garcia Says Davisis the  Next Opponent After Javier Fortuna. Boxing News Ryan Garcia spent nearly his entire press conference on Tuesday talking about he wants to fight Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis next, and barely mentioning his opponent Javier Fortuna. It was an odd press conference, given Ryan’s focus on relentlessly talking about Tank Davis (27-0, 25 KOs). When you devote an entire press conference to talking about Tank, a fighter you don’t face in your next fight, that’s a red flag. Ryan might have made the mistake of naming Tanks as his track record is terrible when it comes to summoning top-tier fighters.

For some reason, Ryan had a habit of looking past scheduled opponents and talking about other fights instead of keeping his focus on the task at hand. The way Ryan spends so much time talking about the fight against WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Tank Davis, it looks like he really needs a serious cash fight. It doesn’t matter if Ryan is easily crushed by Tank because the money he will get for the fight will likely match his net worth of $10 million. There’s money to be made for Ryan, but the fans are the ones to lose because he doesn’t stand a chance to beat a fighter as talented as Tank.

Ryan vs Javier Fortuna on July 16

Ryan’s performances in his last two fights against Emmanuel Tagoe and Luke Campbell. Most likely he will lose if he fights with one of the lightweight boxers like Devin Haney, Vasyl Lomachenko, or Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. Ryan (22-0, 18 KOs) still have to beat Javier Fortuna (37-3-1, 26 KOs) on July 16 in their headliner at DAZN at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California. If Ryan loses that fight, he can forget the fight against Tanks in 2022.

“After that, I’ll go after Tank and I’ll beat him up,” Ryan Garcia said at a press conference Tuesday for his fight against Javier Fortuna on July 16. Not many boxing fans really believed that Ryan would beat Tank. They just saw this as a money grab on Ryan’s part and saw it as a pathetic scam.

“Obviously, I don’t want to see Fortuna too much, but that’s all I want. That’s all I see. I don’t care about anyone else right now,” Ryan said of his desire to fight Gervonta Davis next.

“The fans want it, I’m sure of it, and I want it. He [Tank] shouted at me throughout the last fight, ‘I’m next. So be the man who keeps your word, let it be next. I don’t want to hear anything else. And I don’t want to hear other people’s names. I don’t care about that. I care about Gervonta Davis. Come on. “That’s what I want,” Ryan said.
